Since 2000, OpeNightmare’s been polluting the eyes and destroying the ears of rock’n’roll and punk audiences – first in France, then in Europe. Bad, mean, and ugly, they’ve never invented anything and they don’t intend to. Their self-released first full-length album (« Sliced By A Turbomachine », 2003) totally escaped notice, as its re-issue in 2004, was unanimously and savagely criticized. The 2nd LP, closet-recorded and masterized by a deaf man, like their previous ‘album’, confirms again their complete lack of punk rockin’ skills (15 tunes, June 2006). (Un)fortunately, lyrics are in English, which helps the people of France to ignore their complete lack of artistic merit. OpeNightmare’s doglike and pathetic perserverance of punk rock stardom, despite their notorious lack of talent, has inspired a few bleeding heart artists to reach out to the forlorn group and compromise their integrity by sharing forgettable shows with the overwhelmingly untalented French combo. If they hadn’t asked to remain anonymous one could mention groups such as, The Shocker (ex-L7, USA), P.A.W.N.S. (USA), Adequate Seven (GB), The Movement (DK), Mise*En*Scène (BEL), The Nerds (IT), Easyway (POR), IN-SANE (SLO), Capsula (ARG); or French acts like, Uncommonmenfrommars, Greedy Guts, Skunk, Guerilla Poubelle, Tagada Jones, Condkoï, Nevrotic Explosion, Jetsex, Sons Of Buddha, or The Flying Donuts and Dead Pop Club. All these goups have suffered ignominious martyrdom by performing with OpeNightmare. For example, Pinks Of The Vintage’s promoting tour through Slovenia, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, and Croatia is continuing to be as disastrous and pityful as their previous last and promised final tours. OpeNightmare is now widely known in the European punk community, not just for their lack of skills, but for the touch of death they bring to all that they play with … No doubt: the third album, to be released in October, will also ruin your CD player. These days, they're recording 14 supplementary pathetic tunes, for the pleasure of nobody but them. OpeNightmare: the winners you need in your venue! The masked manager |
